This one-year fellowship is designed for early-career professionals (aged 23–35) interested in gaining hands-on experience in public health programming, particularly in maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health (MNCAH). The Fellow will support program implementation, partnerships, and policy engagement, working closely with government stakeholders, development partners, and donors.

The fellowship runs for 12 months under a renewable 3-month contract, with quarterly one-week re-energizer breaks


Responsibilities

  • Support coordination and implementation of MNCAH-related programs and activities
  • Assist in developing concept notes, proposals, and program reports
  • Contribute to tracking donor opportunities, meetings, and fundraising pipelines
  • Collect, analyze, and disseminate data related to health programs and interventions
  • Support monitoring of project budgets and expenditures
  • Assist in drafting and reviewing agreements with partners and tracking implementation
  • Contribute to donor reporting processes and documentation
  • Develop communication materials including newsletters, briefs, and program updates
  • Maintain organized electronic records of program documents and correspondence
  • Provide administrative and operational support to program teams
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Medicine, Nursing, Development Studies, Social Sciences, community development, project management, communications or any other related field
  • Knowledge of national and global policies, strategies and frameworks on reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health, adolescent and youth development and the SDGs.
  • Strong understanding of national and global MNCAH policies and frameworks is an added advantage
  • 2-3 years of experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Swahili
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail
  • Two filled recommendation letters, prior to confirming Fellowship
  • Residency in Dar es Salaam
