The Business Planning Manager will support the Executive Management in formulating, implementing, and monitoring the Bank’s strategic and business plans. The role involves coordinating strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment between departmental objectives and corporate goals, and providing analytical insights to support executive decision-making.

Responsibilities

1. Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Lead the preparation and periodic review of the Bank’s Strategic Plan and Annual Business Plans in collaboration with departmental heads.
  • Monitor and evaluate the implementation of strategic initiatives, ensuring timely progress and measurable outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain a performance management framework aligned with the Bank’s strategic objectives.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual strategic performance reports for the Board and Executive Management.


2. Business Performance Analysis

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data on business performance, market trends, and financial indicators.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to improve profitability, efficiency, and competitiveness.
  • Support the preparation of management dashboards and performance scorecards.
  • Conduct competitor and industry benchmarking analyses.


3. Corporate Governance & Executive Support

  • Coordinate strategic presentations, reports, and briefing papers for the Managing Director and Executive Management.
  • Support preparation of materials for Board meetings, strategic retreats, and management committee sessions.
  • Track follow-ups on management and board resolutions related to strategic initiatives.


4. Strategic Projects Coordination

  • Manage and monitor key strategic and transformation projects across the Bank.
  • Serve as a liaison between departments to ensure cross-functional coordination and timely delivery of projects.
  • Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies for projects under implementation.


5. Budgeting & Resource Planning

  • Support the development of annual budgets aligned to the Bank’s strategic priorities.
  • Work closely with Finance and departmental heads to ensure effective resource allocation.
  • Evaluate financial performance versus strategic targets and provide variance analyses.

 

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Banking, or Strategic Management.
  • A Master’s Degree or professional qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIMA, MBA) will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years’ relevant experience in strategy, business planning, or performance management within a financial institution or consulting firm.
  • Proven experience in strategic analysis, budgeting, and project management.
