This one-year fellowship targets early-career professionals (aged 23–35) interested in climate change, environmental sustainability, and development programming. The Fellow will support initiatives that integrate environmental considerations into development work, including policy engagement, partnerships, and program implementation.

The fellowship runs for 12 months under a renewable 3-month contract, with quarterly one-week re-energizer breaks.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of climate change and environmental programs
  • Support research and analysis on environmental policies, climate resilience, and sustainability initiatives
  • Contribute to proposal writing, concept notes, and fundraising efforts
  • Track donor opportunities and maintain a fundraising database
  • Support monitoring of project implementation, budgets, and reporting
  • Assist in developing partnerships and monitoring collaboration agreements
  • Prepare communication materials including articles, briefs, and digital content
  • Maintain proper documentation and filing systems for program activities
  • Support internal and external reporting processes
  • Assist with administrative and operational program needs
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Climate Change, Natural Resource Management, Development Studies, or related field
  • Basic knowledge of climate change frameworks, environmental policies, or sustainability practices is an advantage
  • 2-3 years of experience
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Swahili
  • Two filled recommendation letters, prior to confirming Fellowship
  • Residency in Dar es Salaam
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
